EDP 203: Teaching Exceptional Learners

The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving the success of children and youth with disabilities and/or gifts and talents. CEC advocates for appropriate governmental policies, sets professional standards, provides professional development, and helps professionals obtain conditions and resources necessary for effective professional practice. CEC is known as THE source for information, resources, and professional development for special educators.

YEC is a peer-reviewed quarterly journal produced by DEC. YEC is a practical resource designed for teachers, administrators, therapists, family members, and others who work with young children with disabilities.

Teacher Education and Special Education (TESE) is a research forum dedicated to research that supports the cultivation of a strong special education workforce, including the special educators, general educators, paraeducators, leaders, related service providers, and teacher educators responsible for ensuring an equitable education for children, youth, and adults with disabilities and their families. In general, TESE publishes original quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods research, systematic reviews of the literature, comprehensive evaluations of personnel preparation and professional development programs, theoretically grounded position papers, and policy analyses.

International Journal of Disability, Development and Education (IJDDE) is a multi-disciplinary peer-reviewed journal with an international focus. It provides a single source of information on the education and development of persons with disabilities. IJDDE aims to publish the very best research and review articles concerned with all aspects of education, human development, special education and rehabilitation.

The International Journal of Teacher Education and Professional Development (IJTEPD) invites quantitative and quantitative research and interdisciplinary studies in education, especially in teacher preparation, to include areas of assessment, technology, diversity, and cultural competency.

The Journal of Case Learning and Exceptional Learners (JCLEL) is an open-access, double-blind peer-reviewed journal that publishes special education case studies for students with moderate to extensive living and learning needs. Case studies are accepted for publication as either observation-based descriptions of individual experiences or as intervention-based descriptions of IEP team decisions, interventions, or associated outcomes
